These cups are made from clay collected from the property of the Shottesbrook winery. There’s a great restaurant there, where I worked for several years. I made cups for the restaurant when I was just starting my journey with ceramics. The last couple of commissions were this style…clay from the property with glaze matching the decor.
It’s a beautiful location, with a lime tree orchard and kitchen garden adjacent the restaurant, and bue wrens were often seen flitting about the place.
